On February 26, 2020, Willie Hicks, a 27-year-old man from York, PA, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the early morning hours. Hicks was discovered outside a barber shop and hair salon on West Market Street, where the shooting occurred. The York City Police Department launched an active homicide investigation, but no suspects or motives were immediately identified.
