Daniel P. Galvin, a 36-year-old man from Erie, PA, tragically passed away on March 8, 2020. He was a loving father, fiancé, and son, known for his immense heart and dedication to his family. Galvin was involved in a fatal shooting incident at a house on the 3800 block of Tuttle Avenue, where he was shot in the head. The Erie County Coroner ruled his death a homicide.
Following the incident, police brought in two people for questioning, including Galvin's mother. Joseph J. DiGello, 61, Galvin's mother's longtime boyfriend, was charged with criminal homicide and other related charges. DiGello, who had been drinking heavily on the day of the shooting, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to eight to 20 years in state prison.
The tragic event left Galvin's family and friends devastated. His fiancé, Santina Bonaminio, described him as a devoted father who loved spending time with his children and teaching them sports.
