He was a certified welder and had worked as a foreman at Erie Coke until its closure. His passion was working on projects in his garage, creating unique vehicles from various parts.
The circumstances of his death were the result of a violent crime. Two men, Jakwaris Robison and Marshawn Williams, attempted to rob Devin of marijuana. During the course of the robbery, Devin was fatally shot.
