In the autumn of 2020, 47-year-old Sindrell Oliver, a Black male, vanished from the streets of Philadelphia. On October 7th, he and his 31-year-old companion, Jerome Lawrence, were last seen alive entering a tax preparation business in the Olney section of the city. They were reportedly there to meet a man concerning a debt. Surveillance footage captured their arrival, but the two men were never seen leaving the establishment. A missing persons investigation was launched on October 11, 2020, after they could not be located.

For nearly two years, the fate of Sindrell Oliver and Jerome Lawrence remained a mystery. Then, on June 20, 2022, a grim discovery was made in the basement of a residence on North Front Street. Following a tip, Philadelphia Police uncovered the bodies of both men. The investigation that followed determined that both Oliver and Lawrence had been shot, and their deaths were officially ruled as homicides.

Despite the discovery of their bodies and the determination of the cause of death, the case has grown cold. The owner of the tax preparation shop where the two men were last seen has reportedly not cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement has made public appeals for information, and a reward has been offered for any details that could lead to a breakthrough in the case. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Sindrell Oliver and Jerome Lawrence. The investigation into their deaths remains open and unsolved.
