In the early afternoon of a Tuesday in Philadelphia, specifically April 6, 2021, a burst of violence shattered the day's calm in the Kensington neighborhood. It was approximately 1:02 p.m. when police were called to the 800 block of East Madison Street, responding to reports of a person with a gun. There, they would find a scene that would ultimately lead to a homicide investigation. The victim was 43-year-old Wilfredo Couvertier, a Black/African American male.
