In the spring of 2021, the life of 16-year-old Kadeem Green was tragically cut short on the streets of Philadelphia. A Black male, Kadeem was found in an alleyway on the 2900 block of North Taney Street on the evening of Wednesday, April 14, 2021. The call came in to Philadelphia Police officers at approximately 5:26 p.m., reporting a shooting in the North Philadelphia neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Kadeem unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Paramedics who were called to the scene pronounced him dead, his life taken in a sudden act of violence. Kadeem was a resident of the 2900 block of Allegheny Avenue. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the scene was processed by investigators, but no weapon was recovered at that time.
The investigation into Kadeem Green's death was handled by the Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit. For several months, the case remained under active investigation.
