On a cold Christmas Eve in 2019, the life of 19-year-old Maalik Jones, a Black male from Yeadon, Pennsylvania, was tragically cut short in a violent shooting. The evening of Tuesday, December 24th, found Jones behind the wheel of a white Ford, driving along the 2600 block of Carroll Street in Philadelphia. At approximately 9:00 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night, and Jones was struck.
