In the summer of 2022, a brutal shooting in South Philadelphia claimed the life of 36-year-old Vincent Jackson. The incident, which also resulted in the death of another man and left two others seriously injured, sent shockwaves through the community.
On the evening of June 23, 2022, on the 1200 block of South Bucknell Street, a hail of gunfire erupted, with more than 30 shots fired. When the chaos subsided, four men had been shot.
Vincent Jackson and Raheem Hargust, also 36, succumbed to their injuries. Two other men, aged 25 and 28, were critically wounded in the attack.
Initial police reports indicated that multiple gunmen were involved in the quadruple shooting. Investigators believed a silver or gray vehicle, later identified by one source as a silver Hyundai Sonata, was connected to the assailants. It was also reported that at least one of the victims may have been in possession of a gun at the time of the incident.
Despite the violent nature of the crime and the significant number of casualties, the investigation into the murders of Vincent Jackson and Raheem Hargust has been met with challenges. While a recent report from a crime-solving organization in March of 2026 stated that police had identified four suspects and were actively searching for them, this information has not been widely corroborated by other news sources. To date, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the case. The suspects were described by police as at least two males who fled the scene after the shooting. The case officially remains unsolved, leaving a grieving community and two families still searching for answers and justice.
