In the Logan section of Philadelphia, on April 20, 2021, a devastating series of events cut short the life of 19-year-old Bryant Heard. The young man was involved in a car accident on the 1200 block of Wagner Street. What began as a traffic incident quickly escalated into a fatal act of violence.
Immediately following the collision, a man who had been working on a car down the street approached Heard's vehicle.
Instead of rendering aid or exchanging information, the man, identified as 22-year-old Terrance Fleming Jr., opened fire, shooting Heard multiple times. The sudden and brutal attack left the teenager with fatal injuries.
Philadelphia police quickly launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led them to name Fleming as the primary suspect in the shooting death of Bryant Heard. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and authorities began a search for the North Camac Street resident. The search for Fleming extended beyond the city limits.
In August 2021, Terrance Fleming Jr. was apprehended in North Carolina, several months after the shooting. He was taken into custody and held, awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania to face charges for the murder of Bryant Heard.
