Zondel Carter, a 31-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Philadelphia on the evening of November 22, 2021. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on the 7100 block of Ogontz Avenue.
Emergency services responded to the scene and transported Carter to Albert Einstein Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his gunshot wounds later that evening.
His death was recorded as the 497th homicide in the city that year.
