Devon Michael Thompson, a 21-year-old male from Beaver Falls, PA, tragically passed away on October 24, 2021, in New Castle, PA. Devon was known for his love of music and his plans to travel and explore the world before opening his own business. His untimely death was a result of a shooting incident.

The investigation into Devon's death revealed that he was shot in the 400 block of Leasure Avenue in New Castle. The suspect, Daniel Tweedlie, a 20-year-old from New Brighton, PA, was arrested and charged with Devon's murder. Tweedlie was reportedly supposed to sell Devon shoes and a gun before ultimately shooting him. Tweedlie used an untraceable "Ghost" gun, which is sold in parts online. He had a prior conviction for illegal possession of a firearm by a minor and was not allowed to have a gun at the time of the shooting.

Tweedlie was taken into custody and held in the Lawrence County Jail with no bond since his arrest in 2021. He was sentenced to 2 ½ to 5 years in state prison, with 5 years of probation following his release. Tweedlie's past conviction and the circumstances of the shooting played a significant role in the legal proceedings.

Devon's mother, Autumn Brandyburg, passed away of a heart attack five months after his death, adding to the tragedy experienced by his family. The community and Devon's loved ones continue to mourn his loss and remember him for his kind heart and aspirations.
