On March 5, 2022, police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a grim scene on the 6900 block of Cedar Park Avenue. Timms was found with a gunshot wound to his head, positioned next to a stolen Kia Sportage.
Inside the vehicle, another victim, 20-year-old Ahmed Graham, was found deceased in the back seat from a gunshot wound to the back. The third victim, 18-year-old Konyae Rice, was discovered in the street, having been shot multiple times.
The brutality of the crime sent shockwaves through the community, prompting residents to voice their frustration and exhaustion with the pervasive gun violence in their neighborhood. In the immediate aftermath, a rally was held to condemn the killings and demand an end to the violence that has plagued the area.
