Sahmyra Garcia, a 20-year-old woman from Philadelphia, PA, tragically lost her life on November 8, 2022. Garcia was shot ten times by her ex-boyfriend, Marques Burney, near a SEPTA station shortly after she had filed a protection from abuse order against him. The incident occurred early in the morning as Garcia was on her way to work at a Target store.
