Shakiyah Burston, a 23-year-old Black female, tragically lost her life on May 31, 2020, in Philadelphia, PA. She was one of three victims shot on the 3900 block of Fairmount Avenue that night. At 11:42 p.m., Philadelphia Police Officers responded to the scene and found Burston suffering from a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries the following morning, June 1, 2020.
