On November 11, 2022, Green was seated inside a red 2002 GMC Yukon on the 3100 block of Berkeley Drive when gunfire erupted. A bullet struck her in the back, inflicting a fatal wound. The incident, which occurred around 11:46 p.m., also left a 59-year-old male companion injured, though his wounds were not life-threatening.

to the scene, and Green was rushed to Temple University Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. the following morning. The Philadelphia Police Department launched a homicide investigation into the shooting.
