Tyrone H. Guy, a 35-year-old man from Philadelphia, tragically lost his life on November 22, 2022, in Norristown, PA. Guy was fatally shot on the evening of November 21, 2022, around 10 p.m., on West Main Street in Norristown. He was found on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
An investigation into Guy's death was launched by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and Norristown Police Department. During the investigation, detectives discovered that Guy's iPhone was actively recording video at the time of the shooting. The video captured a confrontation between Guy and another man, later identified as Eugene "Roc" Ware, a 41-year-old resident of Philadelphia. In the video, Ware appears to be concealing something behind his back and, after exchanging words with Guy, swings at the iPhone, knocking it to the ground. Gunshots can be heard in the recording.
Based on the evidence from the video and other investigative leads, an arrest warrant was issued for Ware on November 23, 2022. Ware was charged with first-degree murder and weapons charges. He was also on parole for previous firearms violations and was not allowed to possess a gun. Ware remained at large for a period but was eventually taken into custody after a brief standoff at a home in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.
