On July 15, 1991, Booker T. Gilcrease, a 28-year-old Black male from Akron, Ohio, was fatally shot after an argument at the Mercedes lounge. The incident occurred at 20 N. Main St., Akron, Ohio, and was classified as a homicide. The Akron Police Department took charge of the investigation.
