On June 18, 1980, Joseph Adamov, a 52-year-old male, was found dead in his rented room above the Big Whirl restaurant located at 124 East Market Street in Akron, Ohio. The building had been deliberately set on fire, and the incident was classified as arson. Adamov was inside his room when the fire broke out, and his death was determined to be a homicide.
