Larry Randolph Cox, a 44-year-old male police officer of Caucasian ethnicity from Chillicothe, Ohio, was tragically shot and killed on April 21, 2005. Cox, who served as a D.A.R.E. officer, was off-duty when he observed a robbery suspect fleeing from another officer. Despite being off-duty, Cox chose to join the pursuit. The suspect, a 34-year-old man, had stolen a car and robbed a gas station approximately an hour earlier.
