Patrick L. Jones, a 47-year-old African American man from Columbus, Ohio, tragically died on January 3, 2014. He was a resident at a home for developmentally disabled individuals and had a history of confrontations with law enforcement. On the night of his death, police were called to the house after a caregiver reported that Jones had threatened her and locked himself in a bathroom.
