On August 29, 2024, Columbus police conducted a welfare check at an apartment in the 3300 block of Broadmoor Avenue, prompted by neighbors reporting a foul odor and expressing concern for the residents' well-being. Upon entry, officers discovered the bodies of 25-year-old Journey Fletcher and her two children: 5-year-old son Jalani Jennings and 3-month-old daughter Harmoni Agyei. All three were pronounced dead at 11:09 a.m.
