Joseph P. Remlinger, a 50-year-old Caucasian male from Columbus, Ohio, tragically died on June 2, 2016. He was a landlord who was shot by his tenant, Maurice E. Watkins, age 33, when Remlinger attempted to collect overdue rent. After shooting Remlinger, Watkins, along with Pierre C. Williams, age 26, set fire to the garage where Remlinger's body was placed in an attempt to cover up the crime.
