Dwayne L. Madison, a 42-year-old African American male from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life on November 8, 2018. Madison was fatally shot during a robbery attempt that occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the Near East Side of Columbus. The incident took place during a pre-arranged drug deal, where Madison was sitting in his SUV when three men approached him with the intent to rob him.
The assailants, identified as Hubert Glanton II, Silas T.
Hill, and Marcus J. Wright, were all involved in the robbery. Glanton, who was the triggerman, shot Madison, causing him to drive away before crashing into a parked car and a brick wall. Madison was pronounced dead at the scene. Video footage from a nearby security camera helped the police identify the suspects.
Following the incident, Hubert Glanton II was arrested on December 3, 2018, and later sentenced to 18 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery. Silas T. Hill and Marcus J. Wright were also arrested and pleaded guilty to the same charges, each receiving nine-year prison sentences as part of plea agreements.
