Two men are killed inside a residence Je'Vohn Hill, aged 27, was killed on March 10, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio, in a double homicide that also took the life of his brother, Jeronn Hill. The incident took place at a residence on Maize Road. On that Friday evening at around 7:54 PM, the Columbus Division of Police received reports of people screaming and crying in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered both brothers inside the residence, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
The victims were pronounced dead at 8:05 PM by responding medical personnel. At the time of the investigation, there were no known suspects or clear motives behind the killings, and the case remained unsolved for several years.
The Columbus Police, along with Crime Stoppers, issued a public appeal for information, offering a cash reward to anyone who could provide leads that would result in an arrest or indictment of the individuals responsible for the deaths. Despite these efforts, for years, the case remained stagnant with few promising leads.
In January 2024, significant progress was made when Brian Banks was indicted by the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas for his involvement in the murders of Je'Vohn and Jeronn Hill. Banks was charged with multiple offenses, including Aggravated Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Weapons Under Disability. The arrest was carried out by the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in collaboration with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. Banks was apprehended on Ohio State University's campus and is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail. The arrest marked a significant breakthrough in what had been an enduring and unresolved investigation into the deaths of the Hill brothers.
