On May 23, 2016, at approximately 2:52 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a report of a man in distress in the parking lot of a Waffle House located at 1405 North Cassady Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Chase H. Breitigam suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite the quick arrival of emergency medical services, Chase was pronounced dead at the scene by 3:06 a.m.
The circumstances of his death have remained under investigation, and the case remains unsolved.
Chase Breitigam was identified as a Hispanic male, born on September 27, 1986. His homicide is currently classified as an open case, and it is listed among the unsolved homicides by the Ohio Attorney General’s office and the Columbus Police Department.
