On May 23, 2016, at approximately 2:52 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a report of a man in distress in the parking lot of a Waffle House located at 1405 North Cassady Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Chase H. Breitigam suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
