Police Officer II Mario Navidad Jr., aged 27, tragically lost his life on December 22, 1996, in Los Angeles, California. Officer Navidad and his partner were on patrol when they were flagged down by a convenience store clerk who reported a theft. The suspect, identified as Aleim Ulloa Ortiz, had stolen beer from the store.
