On March 23, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Columbus police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 800 block of Danwood Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Ian Cousins suffering from a gunshot wound at a nearby gas station on Norton Road. Cousins was transported to Doctors Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after 8:30 p.m.
The circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released information regarding potential suspects. The Columbus Division of Police continues to seek information from the public to assist in identifying those responsible for Cousins' death.
Cousins, affectionately known as "Booby," was born on June 11, 1999, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 2018 and had a passion for fast cars, motorcycles, and fashion. He was an electrician apprentice and aspired to pursue a career in welding. His charismatic energy and humor left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
