Charles Eugene Staten, a 38-year-old African American male from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life on April 7, 2017. Staten was fatally shot outside the Brothers Food Mart in the 1700 block of Parsons Avenue. He was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at Grant Medical Center. The incident occurred around 9:52 p.m., and Staten was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
