On October 17, 2017, Michael Scarberry, aged 29, was assaulted in the area of Sullivant Avenue and Brehl Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Around 10:40 p.m., the Columbus Division of Police received a call regarding a person who was reportedly "down and out" in the area. Upon arrival, authorities found Michael Scarberry unconscious, and he was subsequently transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital by emergency services.
