On October 24, 2017, Abdisalam Mohamud, a 25-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred around 3:13 p.m. when the Columbus Division of Police received multiple calls about a vehicle crash at the intersection of North Cassady Avenue and Agler Road. Upon investigation, it was determined that Mohamud had been shot just before the crash.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries at 3:41 p.m.
A second victim, Nuradin Abdi Ali, also 25 years old, was found at the scene with a gunshot wound. Ali fled the scene on foot but returned when officers arrived. He was treated for his injuries and survived. Despite extensive investigations, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
