Shawntaye Edward Gavin, a 31-year-old African American male from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life on September 16, 2020. He was fatally shot in the Linden area of Columbus, and despite being rushed to Grant Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. when police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found Gavin suffering from a gunshot wound.
