In the spring of 2012, a burst of gunfire on Detroit's northeast side tragically cut short the life of 17-year-old Joseph Palmer. The young man, an African-American male, was fatally shot on the evening of May 8th. The incident unfolded around 7:45 p.m. on the 13000 block of Mitchell Street, a residential area near Victoria Street and the Davison Freeway. When help arrived, Palmer was found critically wounded. He was rushed for medical attention but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
