In the summer of 2020, the city of Detroit was rocked by the senseless killing of Kevin Wheeler, a 34-year-old man who was a beloved figure in his community. On the evening of July 8th, Wheeler was sitting in his white Jeep Cherokee at a red light at the intersection of Livernois Avenue and Ewald Circle when an unknown assailant approached his vehicle on foot and opened fire, striking him multiple times.
