Billy G. Heeter, a 52-year-old male from Columbus, OH, died on November 21, 2018, following an officer-involved shooting in Franklinton. Heeter was reportedly distraught and armed with a gun when police responded to a call from a family member who was concerned about his well-being. Upon arrival, officers encountered Heeter inside his home, and a confrontation ensued. During the encounter, Heeter produced a gun, and multiple shots were fired by the officers.
