Stacie Ramon Hester, a 49-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on July 7, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred at approximately 11:47 p.m. when Columbus Police Officers responded to a report of gunfire at Hester's residence on South Richardson Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Hester lying on the floor, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
He was immediately transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.
Witnesses reported that Hester was involved in a physical altercation with an unidentified suspect, during which the suspect threatened Hester with a gun. Hester managed to force the suspect out of the house through a rear sliding glass door, but moments later, shots were fired through the door, hitting him. The suspect fled the scene, and despite extensive investigations, no arrests have been made in connection with Hester's death.
