Dameire Thornton, a 19-year-old male of Black ethnicity, tragically lost his life on February 23, 2022, in Columbus, Ohio. He was fatally shot in the Hilltop area of west Columbus, specifically in the 300 block of Whitethorne Avenue. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just after 10:50 p.m. and found Thornton suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:08 p.m.
