On July 16, 2017, Mohamed Abidraman Mead, a 33-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the common area of an apartment building located at 165 E. 11th Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred around 11:35 p.m., when Columbus Police officers responded to reports of gunshots and people yelling that someone had been shot.
