Ulrich M. Smith, a 42-year-old Black male, was tragically shot and killed on October 10, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio. He was walking home from a COTA bus stop when he was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of East Fifth Avenue and the ramp to James Road. Despite being rushed to Grant Medical Center, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Smith left behind a wife and young son.
