Myron was well-known in his community for his dedication to helping others, having worked as a surgical technician at Grandview Hospital, a medical supply technician at the VA, and in various roles at Larricks and the Dayton Daily News. He was also passionate about martial arts and fitness.
The circumstances surrounding Myron's death were quite distressing.
On the day of his death, police responded to a 9-1-1 call from Randall Aniton, who reported that he had shot Myron at his residence on Northford Road in Trotwood, Ohio. Aniton, who was 63 years old at the time, was arrested and charged with murder. The coroner's office confirmed that Myron had indeed died from the gunshot wounds.
The investigation revealed that the shooting was not a result of a home invasion, as initially claimed by Aniton, but rather a tragic altercation between friends. Aniton later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a firearm specification, and in November 2020, he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Myron is remembered fondly by his family, including his wife Kasey L. Taylor, his children Cameron, Jasmine, Ronald, Takaysha, and Tamya, and his nine grandchildren. His memorial service was held at St. Paul Community Church in Dayton, where many friends and family members gathered to honor his memory.
