On the evening of August 15, 2020, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Toledo police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Steeplebush Drive in South Toledo. Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Jacobie Wilson, an African American male, lying on the ground amidst a large crowd. He was unconscious and exhibited no pulse. Emergency services transported him to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At the scene, investigators recovered multiple shell casings, bullets, and a semi-automatic pistol found next to Jacobie. Several nearby residences had also been struck by bullets, indicating a potentially chaotic and dangerous incident.
