The final evening of May 19, 2025, drew Brandon Abbott, a 44-year-old Black male from Toledo, to the McDonald's at 2130 South Reynolds Road, where an encounter ended in gunfire. Officers were dispatched at 5:09 p.m. and found the 44-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound; he was treated at the scene and taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Despite hours of care, he was pronounced dead at 1:00 a.m. the next day. The Lucas County Coroner determined the cause of death ...
