Ronald Jeffery Laroy Jones Jr., a 25-year-old Black man, was found fatally shot in a parking lot on Stone Ridge Drive South in Columbus, Ohio, on March 21, 2021. Columbus police were called to the scene just after 1 a.m., where they discovered Jones Jr. suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by Columbus Fire paramedics but was pronounced dead shortly before 2 a.m. This incident marked the city's 43rd homicide of the year.
