Ronald Jeffery Laroy Jones Jr., a 25-year-old Black man, was found fatally shot in a parking lot on Stone Ridge Drive South in Columbus, Ohio, on March 21, 2021. Columbus police were called to the scene just after 1 a.m., where they discovered Jones Jr. suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by Columbus Fire paramedics but was pronounced dead shortly before 2 a.m.
This incident marked the city's 43rd homicide of the year.
Despite extensive investigations, police have not yet identified a motive for the shooting nor announced any suspects. Detective Camp-Donovan is leading the investigation, assisted by Det. Karnes. The Columbus Police Homicide Section and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers have urged anyone with information to come forward.
As of now, there have been no arrests or litigations related to Jones Jr.'s death. The case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to search for answers. The community and Jones Jr.'s family are still seeking justice and closure in this tragic case.
