On April 26, 2021, 18-year-old Royce Hamilton, a student at Bedford High School in Bedford, Ohio, was shot in the head by a 16-year-old classmate. The incident occurred off school grounds when Hamilton was sitting in a car on McKinley Avenue. Witnesses reported that Hamilton and the suspect exchanged words before the suspect fired three shots into the vehicle.
