On September 3, 2021, Yadiel Torres, a 20-year-old man from Elyria, OH, was found dead on a sidewalk in the 300 block of Broad Street. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m., and the Elyria Police Department responded to the call. Torres was identified as the victim, and his family set up a GoFundMe page to cover memorial expenses.
