Rashawn Delane Garner, a 38-year-old Black male from Columbus, OH, tragically passed away on January 5, 2022. He was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 1700 block of Sullivant Avenue. Despite being rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, he was pronounced deceased at 6:32 PM that same day.
The investigation into Garner's death is ongoing.
Columbus Police Department has been actively searching for leads and executing search warrants in connection with the case. A residence in south Columbus, linked to the suspect’s mother, has been a focal point of the investigation. Multiple guns were recovered during the searches, but no charges have been filed yet.

Garner is remembered by his family and friends as a loving father and fiancé. He is survived by his children, Lamyah Roshea Garner and Rashawn Cardair Garner, and his fiancée, Shauna Brockington.
