A gas station attendant is robbed and shot
On March 8, 1955, 24-year-old Donald Keyes was tragically killed during an armed robbery while working the night shift at the Checker Oil Station located at 1775 East 5th Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Keyes was fatally shot by the unknown assailant(s) during the robbery, and the incident remains unsolved. The Columbus Police Department responded to the scene, but no suspects have been identified, and no significant leads have been made public since the investigation began.
