Christian Jones, a 28-year-old man from Cincinnati, OH, was tragically found shot to death on April 6, 2022, after a vehicle crash on Bassett Road in East Price Hill. The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit took over the investigation, which revealed that Jones was giving a ride to two individuals, 20-year-old Ali Coulter and 18-year-old Youssouf Niangane, in what was described as an unlicensed ride service.
The investigation uncovered that Coulter and Niangane had robbed and
killed Jones during the ride. Shortly after Jones's death, police issued a murder warrant for Coulter. Niangane was arrested on April 8, 2022, on an open murder warrant and was held on a $1 million bond. The case also led to a separate incident in Covington, Kentucky, where police shot and killed Coulter during an attempt to gather information about the murder.
The Jones family has been vocal about seeking justice for Christian, disputing the police's account of events and requesting access to body camera footage from the officers involved. The investigation remains ongoing, with the Cincinnati Police Department continuing to seek information from the public.
This tragic incident has left the community and Jones's family searching for answers and justice for the young man who lost his life that night.
