Anthony Luney, a 56-year-old man from Columbus, OH, tragically died on May 14, 2022. Luney was shot during an altercation at a convenience store on Maize Road in Columbus' Northeast Side. The shooter, identified as Michael Thilat, 31, admitted to shooting Luney during a drug deal. After being shot, Luney managed to drive three miles before crashing his car on Interstate 71. He was found slumped over the steering wheel and pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the torso.
