Davonte Pooh Hollis, a 32-year-old man from Cincinnati, OH, was shot and killed on October 14, 2022, in the Millvale neighborhood. When first responders arrived at the scene on Beekman Street, they found Hollis suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Hollis was previously wanted in connection to a shooting on Carolina Avenue and was charged with one count of felonious assault, although he was never formally indicted by a grand jury on that charge.
On November 28, 2022, Wendall Foster, a 26-year-old man, was arrested and accused of killing Hollis. Foster was indicted on charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault. Additionally, Arthur Smith, a 35-year-old man already incarcerated for another murder, was also indicted for Hollis's death. Smith was accused of conspiring to kill Hollis while in custody.
The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit is ongoing, and both Foster and Smith face serious legal consequences for their alleged involvement in Hollis's death.
