On December 23, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Cincinnati police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1700 block of Republic Street in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Shawntase Beavers suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite first responders' efforts to administer life-saving measures, Beavers was pronounced dead at the scene.
